The Cambridge Skating Club provides exclusive time for skaters of all ages and skill levels to play enjoyable and safe hockey. All members of the club are welcome to participate. The club's hockey sessions are not highly competitive games; the objectives are to have fun and develop skating and game skills.
Sunday Junior Hockey
Scrimmage
Ages 7-12
November 25, 2007 - March 2, 2008
4:15 pm - 5:15 pm
Once again this season the junior members of the club will have their own hour on Sunday afternoon at BB&N. The division of time between skills and scrimmage will depend on the ages and skill levels of the skaters.
Players are asked to arrive early enough to dress so that they can take advantage of the full time period. Players must be properly equipped - helmet with full face mask, hockey skates, shin guards, cup or pelvic protector, hockey gloves, elbow pads, and stick.
Optional equipment: hockey pants or girdles, shoulder pads, and neck guard.
Scrimmages will be supervised. If older skaters would like to help, they should introduce themselves to the coaches. Parents are encouraged to help off the ice by supervising one of the benches.
Saturday Pond Hockey at Daly Rink
November 24, 2007 - March 8, 2008
All ages welcome, 8:00 am - 8:55 am
This time period is reserved for informal pond hockey
and is open to all ages. The near end of the ice to the
blue line will be set up with goals for a game similar
to that which occurs at Willard Street. The far end of
the ice will be available for players to practice
informally.
Helmets with face masks are mandatory for adults as well as children (per order of the Daly Rink's management); hockey gloves and shin guards are recommended.
Wednesday Adult Hockey at BB&N
November 28, 2007 - February 27, 2008
9:30 pm - 10:45 pm
A friendly scrimmage for adults and high school players
with a wide range of abilities. Proper equipment must be
worn at all times. This session is for Cambridge
Skating Club members. Guests may participate,
but only with advance permission and only if it does not
result in the number of participants for a session
becoming too large. Visiting skaters must sign a waiver
of liability form. Guest fees will be collected by the
club's hockey chair. Questions? Call Hockey Chair,
George McEachern (617-645-3114).
